Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of your uterus grows outside your uterus.
When undetected, the disease can grow into various organs like the ovaries, the ureter, and even the intestine. This can cause severe pain, fertility issues, and other health problems. Finding and treating endometriosis early is important for your well-being.
Endometriosis can cause many different symptoms. Some of the most common include:
In more severe cases, endometriosis can cause scar tissue to form. This scar tissue can make your organs stick together.
This is essential for anyone experiencing these symptoms to seek medical evaluation for proper diagnosis and management.
Endometriosis Symptoms aren’t specific. Some people experience mild symptoms, but others can have moderate to severe symptoms.

Endometriosis affects almost one out of every ten women of teenage years. This is most commonly diagnosed in women in their 30s and 40s.
The most common symptom of endometriosis is pain in your lower belly. This pain can be constant and is often worse during your period. Other symptoms may include fertility issues, Pain During Sex and Difficulty in Passing Stool, or Urine.
Endometriosis affects nearly four out of every ten women with fertility issues. Endometriosis infection can harm sperm or eggs or prevent them from passing through the fallopian tubes and uterus. In extreme cases of endometriosis, adhesions or scar tissue can block the fallopian tubes.
The levels of estrogen fluctuate, and endometriosis cells reacts to these variations. Like the uterine lining during the menstrual cycle, the cells could swell and bleeding. Skin in nearby areas may become irritated, swollen, and infected. Endometriosis causes constant discomfort, inflammation, scar tissue, and adhesions, which can lead to fertility problems, digestive and urinary complaints, and constant tiredness.
Surgery can help remove endometriosis tissue. Removing this tissue can reduce pain and increase fertility.
Most women who have surgery report feeling more comfortable. However, there’s a possibility that the pain will return.
After surgery, up to 80% of women experience pain again within two years. This could be the result of endometriosis that was either invisible or impossible to remove during the surgery. The chance of the disease returning increases with complexity.
